COMMUNITY ART PROGRAM
gatheringplace participants enjoy art classes on Tuesdays. Join us in an informal and inspiring atmosphere as we let our imaginations run free with watercolor, acrylics, pastels,, drawing, batik, collage, papier mache and many other art forms. A feeling of pride is experienced as each new work emerges. Friendships develop and laugher is heard as artists work side by side. Art shows, featuring gatheringplace artists, are held at Port Townsend venues and art is printed on cloth bags, note cards and calendars to sell. Our first unique and colorful Participant Art Calendar was produced in 2007, beginning a wonderful tradition. This year's calendar is available on the HERE.

DOG BISCUITS
Dogs' tails are wagging and pet owners are smiling when they stop at our booth at the Farmers' Market to purchase these treats! We offer chicken, beef and vegetable flavors. YUMMY! biscuits are also sold in local stores and veterinary offices. Stay tuned for online ordering as well.

GATHERING COOKS
gatheringplace provides constant social interaction and learning creative activities which can be applied to each participant's own private life. Another important target is having fun! One beautiful aspect of the Monday cooking class is the understanding of where our food comes from. Usually we go out to the garden to pick or dig up vegetables for the meal. As we clean and chop up the vegetables, we talk about the menu plans and the benefits of eating healthy foods. With assistance, the participants work together to prepare the meal. Often we hear the participants relate to similar foods prepared in their own home or eaten in restaurants. They are taking pride in cooking the menus themselves! The tables or picnic tables are set with table clothes, flowers and utensils. While we are enjoying a delicious lunch, everyone has the opportunity to share important things in their lives from the prior week. We also discuss desires for future menus. BLT sandwiches, potato pancakes and squash soup are examples which have been prepared and enjoyed. Then to end the class, we have the important task of clean up and dishes! Many skills are built in a comfortable environment.

PT FARMERS’ MARKET, FESTIVALS, & FAIRS
